Full narrative history

Nation of Hawaiʻi is a sovereignty organization founded in 1994 and led by Dennis "Bumpy" Kanahele. It is headquartered at Puʻuhonua o Waimānalo, a 45-acre village on Oʻahu set aside by the State of Hawaiʻi as part of a 1994 land-use agreement that ended Kanahele's occupation of Makapuʻu Beach.

Ideology — FULL INDEPENDENCE

Full Independence. Asserts that the Hawaiian Kingdom continues to exist as an independent nation under prolonged U.S. occupation. Rejects federal recognition as an Indigenous tribe in favor of state-to-state restoration.
